Have you heard of crystallized intelligence? 🤔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Crystallized intelligence refers to the accumulation of knowledge, facts, and skills through experiences that are acquired throughout life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ People often complain that they feel they're losing intelligence as they age. But contrary to that belief, research suggests crystallized intelligence increases as we age! As a matter of fact, it seems to hit it's peak somewhere around age 60 to 70. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The more you participate in new experiences and soak in new facts the more your crystallized intelligence grows! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So what new thing are you learning or what new experience have you recently had? With this virus, lockdowns, financial worries, politics, etc - I'm feeling a bit #overwhelmed these days. What about you? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I'm stressed I tend to freeze. I get stuck and can't seem to find my momentum again. I also tend to stress eat but, hey, can we just leave that for another day?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This morning I came across this verse: Psalm 61:2 From the ends of the earth, I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Two years ago my husband and I went to the grand canyon. From the rim we could see for miles and miles. This verse reminds me of those views ~ Lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The rock that is higher than us is Christ. From His vantage point He can see the big picture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This virus didn't surprise Him. None of what's happening right now comes as a surprise to Him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He's still in control. He's still on the throne. He's got this girl! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So if you're feeling overwhelmed today, call out to Him.
