Welcome To

Full Heart Empty Nest

This season of life comes with so many changes and emotions. Trying to accept our new roles with our adult children that exist somewhere between mother and friend. For a lot of us, there’s another dynamic that changes. This one is with our elderly parents where we find ourselves in the middle, somewhere between daughter and caregiver.

What about our bodies – really?! It seems like we wake up one day and boom, everything has drooped, wrinkled and sagged!

Then there are the grandbabies! Did you ever think you could love anyone as much as you loved your own babies? Along comes these tiny grands and your heart and life are never the same!

During this season of life, you may also feel a bit lost. After all, we’ve spent quite a bit of time molding, teaching and raising our children to become confident, secure, godly adults and those responsibilities have now changed into a supporting role.

But there’s also excitement during this season! You may find opportunities to push ahead in your career or develop new hobbies and passions.

I hope to encourage and inspire you as you learn to embrace this new season!

About Kim

The writer behind Full Heart Empty Nest

So who am I?

  • I’m a 50-year-old, wife, mother, grammy, and Christ-follower.
  • An empty nester who is helping my daughter, who is a single mother, raise her son. Building a bond with my grandson and using all the things I did wrong raising my own kids as a catalyst to make this relationship even better!
  • I’m a woman who’s dating my husband of 30 years and reconnecting now that our parenting jobs are over.
  • A mom who’s enjoying my kids and daughter-in-law that have grown into incredible adults and friends.
  • A daughter who is now caring for my elderly mother.
  • A friend who is enjoying girl time and adventures with my besties.
  • An entrepreneur who is finding passion in developing my own business.
  • A child of God who is jealous of the dynamic ways God uses other women. I’m striving to deepen my faith and relationship with Christ so I’m open and ready for any way in which He chooses to use me.
  • I also happen to live with chronic illness and write about that on my other blog, Grace Is Sufficient. If you happen to suffer from chronic illness you can hop over and check it out.
